One of the major reasons for drastic climate change is the overconsumption of energy. There are many ways to avoid and reduce the usage of fossil energy consumption such as solar energy, hydro energy, and nuclear energy. But implementing these natural energy sources into our daily life is a bit harder now.

As an individual and as an organization we can help climate change by reducing the energy consumption that we do daily. We use appliances ranging from our laptops to lights every day. The Canadian government is taking steps to make sure Canadians will have a green future and as a part of its plan, the Government will:
- Create thousands of jobs retrofitting homes and buildings, cutting energy costs for Canadian families and businesses.
- Invest in reducing the impact of climate-related disasters, like floods and wildfires, to make communities safer and more resilient.
- Help deliver more transit and active transit options.
- And make zero-emissions vehicles more affordable while investing in more charging stations across the country.
Where to start?
We can start by retrofitting our traditional lights with LED lights.
LEDs enable sustainable energy but without the fallbacks of traditional light bulbs. LEDs use 20 to 90 percent less energy.
